Biography: Lauraine Banks
Lauraine is a qualified chartered accountant with over ten years of experience of working within the media sector. She qualified with Ernst and Young and moved from there to work for United News and Media where she was responsible for the group accounting of the media division which included Anglia Television and Meridian Broadcasting. Lauraine subsequently moved to the Freedom Films and Public group of companies where she became the financial director for a diverse group of media companies. The group was involved in the production of television commercials, music promos and television documentaries. She managed the accounts department and was responsible for all aspects of management accounting and cash management. Whilst at this company Lauraine also became involved in production accounting and produced returns to the BBC for funding.
From here Lauraine became involved in film production. She became the Director of Production for So Loose Films which was set up by the film Director Paul Williams, and worked in various roles during the production of a short films and music videos. She also became involved in raising funding for the company.
Lauraine has a wealth of experience in the media sector and has been involved in most financial aspects of running a small business.
